Program Overview!
Looking for state-funded help to continue your studies in Nagaland? The Nagaland Common Scholarship Portal hosts several government schemes that open windows for high-achieving students, research scholars, and students with disabilities — all with clear online application routes and institutional verification. Three quick reasons to apply now: (1) State Merit & Research windows are open July–Sept 2025 for top students and first-year research scholars; (2) State Disability applications open Aug–Nov 2025 for eligible school students with certified disabilities; (3) the portal centralises rules, forms and verification so you apply once and track status online.
The Nagaland Common Scholarship Portal is the state’s central platform for applying to government scholarship schemes — it lists timelines, uploads official guidelines, and manages online submission and status tracking. The Directorate of Higher Education (Nagaland) publishes scheme guidelines and beneficiary lists, coordinates institutional verification (Institution Nodal Officers / INOs), and manages disbursement; institutions within Nagaland verify applicants through the portal while students studying outside Nagaland often submit hard copies to the Directorate. The portal also provides a helpdesk (phone/email) for technical or application queries.
State Merit Scholarship
A merit-based award for post-matric students (Class 11 and above) who are indigenous or permanent residents of Nagaland and who meet high academic thresholds (fresh entrants often need ≥80% in the qualifying exam for first-year entry; renewal has separate thresholds). Selected students receive financial assistance; applications must be verified by the institution (INO) or sent to the Directorate if studying outside Nagaland.
State Research Scholarship
A scheme for MPhil / PhD / D.Litt students (entry only in the first year). Applicants should be Scheduled Tribe (ST) & indigenous students of Nagaland pursuing research at recognised Indian universities. Applicants submit synopsis/registration proof and supervisor endorsement; renewals require progress reports.
Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities (State Disability Scholarship)
Financial support targeted at students with certified benchmark disabilities — scheme covers eligible school levels with an income ceiling and institutional verification. Fresh and renewal windows are announced on the portal; applicants must upload disability certificate and supporting documents.
