The Institute of International Education (IIE) is a U.S.-based non-profit founded in 1919, dedicated to facilitating global educational and cultural exchange. IIE manages high-impact programs like Fulbright and the Generation Google Scholarship. Its mission is to build more equitable and peaceful societies through international education and scholarship. In partnership with Google-org, IIE oversees selection, administration, and regional coordination of the scholarship, ensuring fair access and broad impact across regions like APAC, EMEA, and North America.

This scholarship supports female undergraduate students in their 2nd or 3rd year enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, or closely related technical fields, at accredited universities in Asia‑Pacific. Eligibility Criteria

  • Gender: Identifies as female
  • Academic Year: 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor’s student during 2024‑25, continuing in 2025‑26 in APAC region
  • Field: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field
  • Academic record: Strong GPA and demonstrated leadership
  • Financial need: Must provide evidence of financial need
  • Exclusions: Children of Google employees are not eligible
  • Student status: Full-time enrolled at an accredited APAC university

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application on the IIE portal for Generation Google Scholarship: APAC
  2. Prepare and upload:
    • Resume/CV
    • Academic transcripts (official or unofficial)
    • Two letters of recommendation (uploaded via system)
    • Short-answer essay responses on leadership and DEI (≈500 words each)
  3. Submit by August 14, 2025 at 11:59 PM U.S. PT, or when APAC cap (≈1,250 apps) is met
  4. Recommendation letters due by August 18, 2025 at 11:59 PM U.S. PT; application may be submitted before letters arrive
  5. Notification of awards by mid-October 2025 via email
