Program Overview!

Are you a mid-career professional in a Commonwealth country seeking world-class development opportunities? The Commonwealth Professional Fellowship offers a fully funded 6‑week to 3‑month placement in the UK, complete with a generous stipend and airfare. This fellowship helps you gain sector-specific skills, expand your professional network, and create lasting impact in your home country. Designed for professionals in fields such as health, governance, innovation, and resilience—with at least five years’ experience—it’s ideal for changemakers committed to development in low and middle‑income Commonwealth nations.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC UK) is a UK government-funded body under the FCDO, dedicated to supporting educational and professional exchange across Commonwealth nations. Since 1959, CSC has administered scholarships and fellowships aimed at fostering sustainable development and global cooperation. The Professional Fellowships scheme is one of its flagship programs for mid-career professionals, offering training aligned with six development themes. CSC emphasizes inclusivity, equal opportunity, and impactful leadership. Its alumni network spans thousands of professionals delivering real change in areas like health, governance, innovation, and crisis resilience.

This program invites mid-career professionals (≥5 years’ experience) from eligible Commonwealth countries to participate in a 6‑week to 3‑month placement hosted by UK institutions—such as universities, NHS Trusts, research centers, or government bodies. The initiative fosters sector-specific development under six priority themes: science & technology, health systems, innovation, peace & governance, crisis resilience, and inclusion. Through structured professional attachments and site visits, fellows gain new skills and exposure to best practices aimed at boosting real-world impact back home.
