The Dr. Albert Schweitzer School Volunteer Program invites passionate individuals from around the world to share their time, talents, and compassion. From teaching and mentoring to leading creative arts and sports, you’ll be helping children build confidence, life skills, and hope. Whether you join for a few weeks or several months, your contribution will leave a lasting impact—both on the community and on you.
Dr. Albert Schweitzer School is a community-based institution in rural Kenya dedicated to educating and empowering HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children from Nursery to Grade 9. Guided by values of integrity, empathy, and love, the school offers both academic and extracurricular programs, including music, drama, sports, and creative arts. Their mission is to equip children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to overcome social stigma and lead fulfilling lives. Through a nurturing and inclusive environment, they aim to break cycles of poverty and exclusion while building stronger, united communities.
The Volunteer Program offers an immersive opportunity to work directly with children and youth, supporting academic learning, creative arts, sports, and life skills development. Volunteers play a vital role in fostering inclusion, reducing stigma, and building resilience among HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children. Activities range from classroom teaching and tutoring to leading extracurricular workshops and organizing community events. The program is designed to create mutual growth—volunteers gain cultural exchange, leadership skills, and meaningful relationships while contributing to the children’s academic, social, and emotional well-being.
