The Detroit Malayalee Association (DMA) is a community-focused non-profit, established around 42 years ago, dedicated to preserving Kerala’s cultural heritage among Malayalees in metro Detroit. Besides organizing cultural events like Onam and Christmas celebrations, DMA seeks to empower its youth through educational initiatives and scholarships—encouraging community engagement and excellence.
The DMA Scholarship is a merit- and service-based financial aid program designed for high school seniors from the Malayalee community in Michigan. Its goal is to support academic aspirations by offering a monetary boost and recognition at a culturally meaningful public event, reinforcing the importance of cultural roots and community involvement.

Eligibility Criteria
- Grade: High school senior in Michigan
- Heritage: At least one parent of Malayalee origin
- Residency: Michigan resident
- Academics: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Achievements: Academic merit or meaningful community involvement

Application Process
