Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must be an Indian citizen enrolled in a full-time PhD program in Science, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary, or Allied Fields.
No need for prior JRF qualification—direct application allowed through institutional endorsement.
Must have completed postgraduate degree (M.Sc., M.Tech., etc.) with first-class academic record.
Application should be routed through the institute/university and endorsed by the research supervisor and Head of Department.
Research institute must have CSIR recognition and fulfill guidelines for research infrastructure.

Application Process
1. Obtain institutional endorsement from your research supervisor and university.
2. Prepare your research proposal and fill in the prescribed application form (available at CSIR-HRDG portal).
3. Submit documents including:
– CV/Biodata
– Research proposal
– Academic transcripts
– PhD registration certificate
– No objection certificate (from institution)
4. The university/institution sends the complete application to CSIR.
5. Applications are reviewed; selected candidates receive award letters.
6. Fellowship is activated upon submission of joining report and related formalities.
